DNA Testing says our DNA is 340,000 years old, what does Genesis say ?

DNA evidence has revealed that the oldest known common male ancestor is 340,000 years old, more than twice as old as previous estimates.

New Scientist reports that the sample comes from a recently deceased man named Albert Perry. After the African-American South Carolina man died, one of his relatives submitted a sample of his DNA to a company called Family Tree DNA for analysis.

The findings were published in the The American Journal of Human Genetics and may require researchers to adjust the known timeline of humankind’s evolution. Michael Hammer, a geneticist at the University of Arizona in Tucson, heard about Perry's unusual Y chromosome and did some further testing. His team's research revealed something extraordinary:

Perry did not descend from the genetic Adam. In fact, his Y chromosome was so distinct that his male lineage probably separated from all others about 338,000 years ago.

Now this is especially interesting when one considers the debate between Creationists that say the earth is 5773 years old and Evolutionists that say the earth is 4.54 Billion years old and that human DNA is approximately 200,000 years old.

The results of this Test show that both are wrong with the Evolutionists being 140,000 years closer to the present Scientific Data.

But if we blend the two hypothesis, there is a 3rd possibility. Working with the initial Story of a 7 Day Creation and taking the view that a Day of Creation actually represents Billions of years we can discover something quite interesting when studying the Original Hebrew of the Old Testament Creation Myth.

If you read the Be'Reshit (Genesis) in Hebrew you see that on Day 6 EL'ohim "created" mankind first (Ardipithecus in Africa 6 million years ago ?) then on Day 8, YHWH "forms" Adam (5773 years ago ?)

Day 6,  Gen 1:27  "EL-ohim created man in His image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them"

Day 8,  Gen 2:7  And the Lord (YHWH) God formed man of dust from the ground, and He breathed into his nostrils the soul of life, and man became a living soul.

In fact Gen 2:7 is the very first time in the Bible that we see the Name Y-H-W-H.

So it is very possible that the Genesis Story paints an accurate picture of how mankind has evolved over a period of 13.8 Billion years (age of our Universe), 6 million years, DNA being established 340,000 years ago, and the development of our Creation Myth (Psyche) over a very short period of 5773 years.

The Letters Y-H-W-H  from Exodus 3:15, and Genesis 2:7 can be read as an acronym for the saying "I have been, I am, and I will be".

These three very short phrases represent the major evolution of our kind : a period of 6 Million, 340,000 and 5773 years respectively.  And we continue to develop and evolve to this very day. We are currently living in the "I will Be" Phase of our existence. What will we be ?

Be.

  1. I work on gamma ray detection equipment. Gamma rays are well documented to cause mutations in human DNA. Most gamma emmisions do not come from beyond the earth. Most that make it here are absorbed by our atmosphere. The sun generates gamma rays but most of them are absorbed by it's outer atmosphere and converted into other forms of radiant energy. Most gamma emissions come from the decay of radioactive elements in the earth beneath our feet. The deeper we descend into the crust the greater the incidence of gamma emissions. At the current levels of gamma emissions we see the extremely low rate of human DNA mutation. Evolutionary theory depends on uniformitarianism to justify it's tenets (small changes over long periods of time). It is a belief with its own set of proofs and evidence. But there is another explanation contrary to this. It is catastrophism. Something occurred that introduced mutagenic material for a brief but catastrophic period: the Great Flood. our bibles tell us that the fountains of the deep and released water (along with debris) onto the surface of the planet. This would have been riddled with mutagens. As the waters receded lakes, rivers, and ponds would have been a mutagenic stew. As rains over a hundred or more years would have washed mutagens from the soil and biosphere. But, not before causing a brief surge of DNA mutations. Today these mutagens would be found in a layer at the bottom of the oceans with river deltas holding the highest concentrations. The grandsons of Noah and the next few generations were the source of most varieties of Y-DNA haplogroups. Regions with little rain or higher elevations would have taken longer to purge. Evolution is a belief just like creationism.

  2. And I not surprised, think about we are 90% made of water.
